A Message from Dean Westgate and Dean Mileur

Outstanding educational opportunities and a deep commitment to our students’ success are among the reasons that Binghamton University has been recognized as “the premier public university in the Northeast” (Fiske Guide to Colleges).

We understand that academic and, later, professional achievements in science, engineering and computer science depend not only on excellent technical preparation, but also on a broader knowledge. It’s the knowledge that enables students to adapt to a rapidly changing world that values leadership accompanied by global and cultural perspectives.

Binghamton University continues to enjoy unusual success in student retention and is a national leader in graduation rates for both majority and minority students. A good deal of this success is due to strong advising and student support programs — such as the Binghamton Success Program — that foster unique learning experiences through student interaction.

A community of undergraduate engineering and science scholars, the Binghamton Success Program is a National Science Foundation program that helps students learn together, acquire study skills, develop time management expertise, gain leadership experience and network with their peers from a variety of undergraduate majors. The program also prepares students for internships and graduate study.

On behalf of Binghamton University, we welcome you to join talented students like yourself in the Binghamton Success Program.
