Binghamton Mood Disorders Institute Resources and Links:

There is good information about depression and suicide on the web. Here are some sites that we are particularly impressed with.

The National Institute of Mental Health
provides information on symptoms and treatment for depression.

The Jed Foundation maintains a web site for college students where students can get additional information about depression and suicide as well as a section that allows you to determine whether you or a friend may be suffering from depression or other psychological disorders (e.g., anxiety or substance abuse).

The American Association of Suicidology and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention offer information for researchers and survivors of suicide as well as information on risk factors and warning signs for suicide.

The Academy of Cognitive Therapy web site provides more information on cognitive therapy. The site also maintains a listing of therapists providing cognitive therapy for a variety of psychological disorders so that you can search for a cognitive therapist near you.
