PAF is directed by a full-time professional anthropologist with
a doctoral degree and specializations in Cultural Resource Management
and Northeastern US prehistory and history. The director meets the
qualifications specified by the Register of Professional Archaeologists
(RPA) and the New York Archaeological Council (NYAC). These are
derived from the federal regulations 36 CFR 800.
The Director is a full-time professional employee
of Binghamton University with adjunct faculty status within the
department. The Director serves as principal investigator for all
PAF projects. The role of the director is as an applied research
professor charged with teaching, advising and mentoring of staff
at PAF. This role parallels and complements that of the teaching
faculty in the department.
