Description of Laboratory

The laboratory facility is located in the Science IV building where the majority of the Department of Psychology is housed.  This laboratory is dedicated for research purposes only and is used exclusively by the PI.  The laboratory (~1200 sq. ft) has been fully renovated and is divided into:

The animals are housed in dedicated colony rooms that are adjacent to, but separate from, experimental treatment rooms.  The PI shares a large colony room with two other faculty for long-term housing and breeding, and has a separate colony room for the isolation of animals during experimentation.  You can take a look at the floor plan for the lab by clicking here.

Note, however, that construction of a new animal research facility is currently in the planning stages and our lab is expecting to move to this new state-of-the-art facility in Fall 2011.
